The SW1816POE-160-E is a high-density switching node designed for network and video surveillance infrastructures that require efficient data distribution and robust PoE power. Its physical architecture features a total of 18 ports, specifically comprising 16 10/100 Base-TX access ports with Power over Ethernet support and an upper link block of 2 Base-T uplink ports. This hybrid configuration provides a switching capacity of 7.2 Gbps, ensuring that video streams from multiple IP cameras are routed to the network core or network video recorders (NVRs) via their dedicated Gigabit interfaces, thereby eliminating any risk of bottlenecks in backbone traffic.
The ecosystem's power management is based on a net power budget of 160 W, operating under the IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) standard, which allows for a power delivery of up to 30 W per port to power medium- to high-power devices. One of the key features of this device is the implementation of Extend mode in the port block from 9 to 16,, which optimizes the signal to cover distances of up to 250 meters at a speed of 10 Mbps, ideal for extensive perimeter deployments. In addition, the switch features an intelligent priority management system that protects the integrity of critical ports in the event that the power limit is reached, all housed in a professional-grade steel chassis with passive cooling that ensures quiet and reliable operation.
