Worst buy ever, horrible product!

I thought a NVR bought in 2025 would support watching videos without installing suspicious executables. Nope.
You absolutely can not, at least not with their latest firmware.

Even if you install their video viewing plugin in a virtualized isolated VM it will not work!
They expect you to use internet explorer, a deprecated and insanely unsafe browser and also demand you set the settings to super unsafe just to see the live view video in a browser.

This is my second Hikvision NVR, but now it ends, we will never ever buy a single Hikvision product again. Their security practices looks like something from a third world nation.

If you have any plans at all to access this NVR through a browser, buy another brand or get ready for serious frustrations.

Buy cameras and NVR from a modern company who cares about security, modern standards and their users, which Hikvision clearly does not.
