The FD310 infrared beam barrier smoke detector has been designed with the latest optical technology, incorporating modern industrial, electronic and software techniques. This detector offers low cost protection for large, open areas with high ceilings. It is also ideal for applications where access to the ceiling for the installation of smoke detectors is difficult.. . The system consists of a modern-looking emitter head, which emits an infrared beam to its associated receiver head, and a compact controller. Once smoke crosses through the infrared beam, the signal level at the receiver drops below a preset level which results in an alarm condition. Both transmitter and receiver detector heads have thumbwheels to facilitate the alignment process. The detector heads can be moved up to 10º on each side of the plane. For further adjustments, a stand is available, offering up to 180º per plane, so a full 360º rotation is possible.. . The FD310 has been designed to be installable by a single operator, thanks to the integration of a laser alignment tool in combination with the use of LED's that offer visual feedback. The integrated laser assist can be activated from the controller or from the receiver head.. . The compact controller incorporates an LCD display, which offers an easy-to-use, fully icon-based user interface. This controller allows easy installation, maintenance and testing of the detection system.
